AI Robotics Startup Figure Raises $1B, Valued $39B

AI robotics company Figure has just secured over $1 billion in its latest funding round, boosting its valuation to $39 billion. Led by Parkway Venture Capital, the round also drew participation from major tech players including NVIDIA, Intel, LG Technology Ventures, Salesforce, T-Mobile Ventures, and Qualcomm Ventures. Other notable investors, such as Brookfield Asset Management, Macquarie Capital, Align Ventures, and Tamarack Global, also joined in.

Figure plans to use the funding to expand its humanoid robots into homes and commercial settings, enhance its infrastructure for faster training and simulation, and strengthen data collection efforts. Venture capital continues to flow heavily into AI-driven companies, helping them stay private longer while scaling cutting-edge technology.

According to PitchBook, fueled by the ongoing AI surge, U.S. startup funding is projected to hit the second-highest level on record in the first half of 2025, up 75.6% year-over-year. Figure's new funding round dramatically raises its valuation from $2.6 billion last year, when it raised $675 million from investors including Microsoft and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

PitchBook emerging tech analyst Ali Javaheri notes, "Investors increasingly see humanoid robots as important as foundational AI models or electric vehicles. The surge in funding reflects both structural demand factors—like aging workforces and geopolitical competition—and supply-side advances in AI software and hardware."

Startups and tech giants, including NVIDIA, Meta, and Tesla, are racing to develop humanoid robots to tackle labor shortages and take on repetitive or hazardous tasks in logistics, manufacturing, and home environments. Figure CEO Brett Adcock says, "This milestone is crucial for the next phase of humanoid robotics growth, enabling us to scale our AI platform Helix and BotQ production."
